The
Junior Ranger Programs are activities prepared especially for 5-12 year old visitors to the
properties of the
National Park Service. Participation is recorded in prepared booklets or newspaper which can cost up to $3. After completing the specified amount of pages for his/ her age group, the participant is awarded a patch, badge and/or certificate, unique for each park.
Emphasis is given to introduction to the natural and urban highlights within the parks.
Participating parks
All
United States National Parks participate in the Junior Ranger Program. Also many
state parks also have a program but some things differ from the
National Park Service program.
